NXT Holdings is a cannabis start-up based in Oregon with a mission to redefine the cannabis industry through premium, sustainably-sourced products and a commitment to innovation and transparency. Their vision is to not only provide high-quality cannabis but to also build a brand that fosters trust, community engagement, and education about the benefits of responsible cannabis use.

I was brought on to design a logo that would serve as the foundation for their brand identity—something modern, sophisticated, and reflective of their values. This project spanned two weeks and involved an in-depth collaborative process. From the start, it was clear that NXT Holdings had a bold vision but needed help translating it into a cohesive visual identity. I worked closely with the team to explore various design directions, focusing on clean lines, organic shapes, and elements that tied into their sustainability and innovation goals.

The process was not without its challenges. One of the key hurdles was finding a balance between creating a design that felt fresh and contemporary while avoiding overused cannabis industry clichés. We wanted to ensure the logo stood out in a competitive market while remaining approachable and professional. After numerous drafts and iterations, we carefully refined the design based on detailed feedback from the team.

The final logo was met with unanimous approval, embodying the values of NXT Holdings and setting a strong visual foundation for their start-up. It features a sleek, minimalist design with subtle nods to nature and growth, aligning perfectly with their mission. The client was thrilled with the outcome, noting how the logo captured their vision and gave their brand the edge it needed to make a memorable first impression in the market. This project was a rewarding experience that highlighted the power of collaboration and perseverance in achieving a meaningful design.

As the sole designer on this project, I took on the challenge of crafting a cohesive and impactful brand identity that not only reflected their mission and values but also resonated with their target audience. The process was highly iterative and collaborative—I worked closely with DRG, presenting and refining several drafts based on their feedback. Each concept was carefully considered and adjusted to ensure it aligned perfectly with their goals.
